Employee gift baskets, packed for each person.
A gift box for each person on your team, from $119. I pack each one to the person, write every card by hand, and ship free anywhere in Canada. Call it a box, a basket or a hamper: it is one rigid box that closes with a magnet. Order 5 to 25 here, or send me a longer list.
Next you tell me who they are. Stripe takes the card and the shipping address, and nothing is charged until you confirm.
More than 25 boxes, separate home addresses, or paying by invoice? Get a quote.
For more than 25 boxes, boxes to separate home addresses, a printed insert, or a company that pays by invoice or PO. Tell me roughly how many and I reply within one business day with a price.
Five people, five boxes.
These are five boxes I packed for employees. Each has its own colour, its own things inside and its own card, because each went to a different person.
White, everything set in place.
Black, in black paper shred.
Navy, in blue shred.
Red, a side for each.
Pink, in rose shred.
When teams send one
These are the moments I pack for most often. It is not a rulebook, only what turns up.
- After a hard quarterOne for everyone who worked it. The card says so.
- A work anniversaryThe card says the number of years.
- Someone’s first weekThat one has its own page.
- Back from leaveNo speech. Something quiet, and I leave out what they cannot have.
- A promotionA bigger box, and a longer card.
- A team that never meetsSeparate home addresses are a quote. Shipping is still free.
- DecemberChristmas has its own dates.
What I need to pack a box
Three things per person. The third can be empty.
The person above is made up. If you know nothing about someone, say so and I send the box that suits anyone.

Or nothing, if you know nothing
Runs the night shift. Tea, not coffee.
Anything to leave out
Allergies, away dates
No nuts.

Set in place, not dropped in. The lid closes on a magnet.

Plan a year of gifts.
Pick the moments you mark with your team, and see the year, and where each person lands against the CRA’s $500 line.

What each person gets in the year, against the CRA line.
$274 a person with tax. Under the line, with room for 1 more at this size.
Counted with 15% tax, the highest sales tax in Canada, to leave room. I am not a tax adviser: this is a sum, not advice.
Non-cash gifts and the CRA $500 line
The CRA treats client gifts, employee gifts and rewards differently, and the rules change. I am not the person to give tax advice, so check with your accountant before you build a program around a deduction. Here is the public policy as it stands, and why a box is the easy case.
The CRA threshold for non-cash gifts to an employee at arm’s length, per person per calendar year, counted across every non-cash gift that year
Prices are before tax. The CRA counts the value of a gift with any taxes on it included.
One box of any size sits under the line. The Luxury box takes more than half of it.
Read the longer version: gift cards, owners and deductions
A box is a physical, hand-packed gift, which makes it a non-cash gift under the Canada Revenue Agency policy on gifts, awards and long-service awards. There is no near-cash question to argue, the way there is with a gift card. Under that policy, non-cash gifts and awards given to an employee at arm’s length are generally not treated as a taxable benefit while their combined fair market value, which the CRA measures with any taxes on the gift included, stays at $500 or less per employee per calendar year. That $500 is an annual total across every non-cash gift the employer gives that person, not a figure per gift, and it is an administrative concession rather than an exemption written into law.
The Signature box at $119 and the Premier box at $189 sit well under that line, so a single box at either size generally would not create a taxable benefit for an employee at arm’s length, assuming the room has not already gone on other non-cash gifts that year. The Luxury box at $299 fits under the line too, though it takes more than half the room, so there is not much left for other non-cash gifting to the same person that year. The threshold does not apply to people who are not at arm’s length, such as owners, shareholders or their relatives, where a gift is generally a taxable benefit whatever it cost.
If you are weighing a box against a gift card, the rule changed in 2022. A gift card is not always taxable, but to stay non-cash it has to be closed loop, usable only at a named retailer or group of retailers, it has to say on its terms that the balance cannot be turned into cash, and the employer has to keep a gift-card log. Miss any one of those and the card is near-cash and taxable whatever the amount. A box removes those conditions and the bookkeeping that comes with them, so you keep normal expense records and nothing more.
Whether your business can deduct the cost is a separate question from whether the employee is taxed. The two tests run independently and deductibility turns on your own facts, so confirm it with your accountant rather than treating it as automatic.
This is a general summary of public Canada Revenue Agency policy, not tax advice. Tax outcomes depend on your own circumstances. Confirm with your accountant before you rely on it.
Questions about employee gifts
Is this an employee gift basket or a hamper?
It is a box. I pack it the way a basket or a hamper would be packed, in a rigid box that closes with a magnet, with something to eat, something to drink and something worth keeping. The word people search for changes; the thing is the same.
What does an employee gift cost?
Signature $119, Premier $189, Luxury $299, each before tax. Shipping and a handwritten card are included, and the price is the same whether you send 5 or 25. I do not make a thinner bulk version.
How many baskets can I order at once?
5 to 25 you can order here with a card, to one address. More than 25, or boxes to separate home addresses, is a quote: tell me roughly how many and I reply within one business day with a price.
Can every basket be different?
That is the default. Give me a line about each person when you order and each box is packed for them. The price does not change with what you tell me.
What about allergies, or someone who is away?
Tell me and I swap what is in theirs, or hold it until they are back. There is no extra charge for either.
Is a gift to an employee taxable?
I am not a tax adviser, so check with your accountant. As a general guide, Canada Revenue Agency policy generally treats non-cash gifts to an employee at arm’s length as not a taxable benefit while their combined value, taxes included, stays at $500 or less per employee per calendar year. One box of any size sits under that. The section below has the detail and the source.
How far ahead should I order?
Give a team order two weeks. It is about a week for me to pack, then up to 7 days in transit. I cannot promise an exact arrival date, and I will say plainly if a date is tight rather than take the order.
Can you ship to each employee’s home?
Yes. A list of home addresses is done by quote, and shipping is still free. Send me the list and I price it and invoice you.
Start with five.
Order 5 boxes this month, tell me about the 5 people, see what comes back, and do the whole team when it has worked.
